A Panther at the Great Lawn
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center and “Park Your Cinema” pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the actor who passed away suddenly at age 43, with a showing of “Black Panther”, the greatest hit of his career, based on the Marvel comic.
Boseman had been diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, but kept his condition private and continued to work, fighting his condition with total discretion, and proving that he was a greatest hero in life than in the roles he portrayed.

Black Panther (2018)
T’Challa rises to the throne of Wakanda, a technologically super-advanced kingdom hidden from the rest of the world, after the death of his father and former king. A friend-turned-foe from the past arrives to claim what he believes is rightfully his, turning the contest for the crown into a true battle. The 18th film production of Marvel Cinematic Universe astounded the entire planet with its box office success. It ended up being the ninth most commercial movie of all time, and the third in the history of the US box office. It was nominated for 7 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, an unprecedented nomination for a superhero-themed production. Its impact on pop culture was phenomenal, with the public showering Hollywood with love for embracing the black community, albeit in an “afro-futuristic” way.
