Music Escapades: In Orbit v.2 - Εικόνα

In Orbit Festival returns to the SNFCC Dome in May!

Eight months after its first sensational appearance in September, which took us on a two-day journey through the sounds of the city with the help of established and up-and-coming acts, Music Escapades: In Orbit transforms itself into a three-day event and makes its comeback to sweep us up into an even broader range of sounds and rhythms.

May’s reimagined festival will feature artists from the electro, rock and hip-hop scenes, with a whole day dedicated to each genre and its representatives. At a time when we sorely need positive vibes and connection, Music Escapades: In Orbit v.2 reaches out with laptops, electric guitars and urban rhymes to send out the pulse of the city far and wide, as we prepare for the advent of summer.

The opportunity to attend Music Escapades: In Orbit v.2, in compliance with all necessary measures of safety in accordance with the Hellenic National Public Health Organization, will be given to a limited number of viewers, through advance booking online, while the public will have the option of watching the concerts online on this page, on SNFCC's pages on Facebook, on Instagram @SNFCC and its YouTube channel.

Twinsanity

Twinsanity are twin brothers rapping mostly in English, with influences from diverse genres resulting in a unique and varied sound. Their impressive bio includes several collaborations with Greek and international MCs (Shahmen, Taf Lathos, MC Yinka, Agnostos Heimonas, Novel 729, etc.), two albums and dozens of singles.

Rammenos Assos

With bold, socio-politically conscious lyrics and an album (Nosos Tou Realismou) that stood out on the domestic hip hop scene as one of the best records of 2020, Rammenos Assos have rightly claimed their place as one of the most popular representatives of Greek hip hop. In only just five years, they have put their name to four albums, one EP and more than 50 singles and collaborations.

mi55t

mi55t is one of the top female MCs on the Greek music scene: a woman who lives and breathes hip hop. In the six years of her career, she has worked with artists such as Razastarr, Twinsanity, Ghetto Rock, Soulnek, Kid Murdock, etc. Music Escapades: In Orbit v.2 coincides with the release of her second solo album.

Oxynous

An up-and-coming ΜC and member of Taf Lathos’ Bashment Records, Oxynous has five solo singles and four collaborations under his belt. Despite being, essentially, his first releases (after several years on the scene), they were very well received by both the audience and his fellow musicians. His latest single, in collaboration with Taf Lathos and Twinsanity, is his best work yet.

On the decks: DJ Micro

Widely known as the DJ for Taf Lathos and Psychodrama07, Dj Micro is the driving force behind Bashment Records and Bashment Studio. Over the past ten years, he has made countless of live appearances, many of them alongside the above artists.

Kid Moxie & Die Arkitekt presenting Temple

Based in Los Angeles, Kid Moxie has made a name for herself as composer and performer in the cinematic pop scene. At the SNFCC, she gets together with techno music producer DIE ARKITEKT to present Temple, a techno performance with live vocals and transcendental sounds. The dark avant-garde of DIE ARKITEKT, an Athenian living in London, meets the dreamy, atmospheric, angelic sound of Kid Moxie, on tracks from the upcoming records of both artists.

Rsn & The Electric Quartet ft. Mc Yinka

Rsn began his journey in music at an early age, inspired by the golden age of hip hop and jazz. He has been working with the British band Belleruche since 2009 and has appeared in major festivals all over the world, alongside big names such as the Wailers, Charles Bradley and Kid Loco. At the SNFCC, he will be joined by his band, The Electric Quartet, and the well-known musician, performer and songwriter MC Yinka.

Strawberry Pills

The Athenian duo Strawberry Pills is made up of Valisia Odell and Antonis Konstantaras. Their music explores the full spectrum of the dark sound to create tracks inspired mainly by the 80s minimal movement and post punk, peppered with electric and goth elements.

Matina Sous Peau

Matina Sous Peau is a musician, producer, DJ and singer. She was born and brought up in Ioannina, where she learned to play the classical violin, and came to Athens to study architecture. She has been a member of several bands (Μοnitor, Papercut, Dusk, My Drunken Haze, The Blue Square), and she also creates mashups and song covers. Her inspired interpretation of Vlassis Bonatsos’ song “Metamorfoseis” was a very popular release.

Puta Volcano

With their trademark hard rock, stoner, sludge sound, Puta Volcano win audiences over and make history with every one of their live appearances. Their latest album, entitled AMMA (2020), pulls together echoes of Alice In Chains, Melvins, Hole, A Perfect Circle, Kylesa and Baroness, in a tantalizing sound fusion that marks them as a band at the peak of their powers.

The Steams

With their roots in the American acid rock that peaked in the 1960s, as well as the more mature and mystical influences of early 1970s classic psychedelia (Jefferson Airplane, The Doors), the four-piece band The Steams is undoubtably one of the brightest stars of the contemporary Athenian neo-psyche scene.

The Big Nose Attack

Big Nose Attack are a power-duo band from Athens. Their music is a fusion of deeply assimilated blues influences and “raw” rock riffs with a nod towards the 70s. Some of their most popular tracks are “Yeah! (That Girl)”, “I Gotta Luv U”, and the more recent “Electric Party”.

Vagina Lips

The Vagina Lips project began in July 2015 in Thessaloniki, as a duo consisting of Zimmy Lips (guitar, vocals) and Lostinthe (drums, vocals). Since May 2016, Zimmy continues the journey solo, weaving his lo-fi sound, 80s shoegaze influences and tuneful vocals into a unique musical tapestry.
