Parklife: Takis Barberis, Petroloucas Chalkias

Our first guests are two distinctive artists with a long musical career. On Saturday, June 5, at 21:00, the acclaimed jazz guitarist and composer Takis Barberis and the living legend of the clarinet Petroloucas Chalkias join forces in a concert that promises to be unforgettable. 26 years after their first official collaboration on Takis Barberis’ record Episodes, the two virtuosos will explore the many places where jazz and Greek traditional music meet. Two ostensibly incongruous musical genres that, nonetheless, bear many similarities in their scales, rhythms, and the intimacy of their improvisations.

Parklife: Sophie Lies & Danai Nielsen

On Thursday, July 29, at 21:00Sophie Lies and Danai Nielsen, two representatives of the new generation of singers, ascend to the Panoramic Steps to present songs old and new, drawing the audience into a mood for experimentation and communication. Shortly after the release of “Recycled Feelings (club remix)”, Danai Nielsen brings her dream pop vision to the stage, creating musical dialogues between her female and male alter egos. At the same time, Sophie Lies meanders into maturity with sweet melodies, simple orchestrations and a versatile sound, and the support of her three-piece band.

Parklife | Locomondo

Employing reggae, ska, latin, rock and traditional Greek rhythms and tunes, Locomondo have been doing, for 18 years now, what they know they do better than anyone else: turning the audience into one big group of friends. Summery dance songs, engaging atmosphere and happy smiles are some of the ingredients that turn their live performances into a unique experience for everyone present.
