On Thursday June 3, 2021, the Sports Excellence Center, which operates under the scientific supervision of the 1st Orthopedic Clinic of the Medical School of Athens, in partnership with Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, presents a panel discussion of the topic “Sleep | Daily performance and the importance of exercise” at the SNFCC Dome.

The discussion will look at the biological functions that allow our bodies to enter into the different stages of sleep, as well as the ways in which we can identify sleep disorders. In addition, we will discuss how not getting enough quality sleep over sustained periods of time may affect our physical and mental performance, and the ways we can improve it. What happens when we exercise, and why does regular physical activity have a positive impact on the quality of our sleep?

The event is coordinated by the “Regeneration & Progress” NGO and realized thanks to a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
