On Sunday November 22, at 21:00, TAF LATHOS, the talented rapper with the massive online following, comes to the Lighthouse of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, for a dynamic concert that forms part of the Μusic Escapades series.
TAF LATHOS (Panagiotis Kyriakou) shares his raw, personal experiences in a disarmingly candid way, remaining faithful to hip hop culture throughout the years. He has grown up and matured within that culture, from his early days as a member of Phychodrama 07, all the way to his personal records released under the name TAF LATHOS. Originally an MC and Beatmaker, he has evolved into a creative producer and hip hop artist with powerful rhymes, passion, energy, and excellent flow. As the founder of the Bashment record label, he helps young, talented rappers find their place and their voice on the conscious hip hop scene, with lyrics brimming with meaning and truth.
In his concert at the SNFCC, TAF LATHOS will perform songs from throughout his career, from “Diigimata Hamenis Niotis” (Tales of a Lost Youth) to his recent tracks for the “Children of the New Era” (“Paidia tis Neas Epohis”) from his latest concert album DECA.
His personal discography began in 2004 with Kanontas Mia Volta (Taking A Walk), followed, six years later, by the album Itan Periergi Katastasi (It Was A Strange Situation), with songs such as “Ksero Pia Poso Diarkei” (I Know By Now How Long It Lasts). His sound continues to evolve over his next albums, Mono Me Hroma (Only With Color) in 2012, and Elpida (Hope) in 2015. He plans each of his steps carefully, focusing on lyrics, timbre, production and performance, and avoiding the convenience of repetition to create timeless tracks.
In April 2018, he traveled to Red Bull Studios in Tokyo to record a single and film its videoclip, gaining a unique experience at the Japanese metropolis. Full of new images, he wrote the song “I Hronia tou Drakou” (The Year of the Dragon), broadening his horizon even further. A few months later, he made his first international appearances, at Le Botanique in Brussels and the Europavox Festival at Clermont-Ferrand, in two sensational concerts. In 2019, he created the ambitious and mature album DECA, with ten songs in the form of short narratives, each represented visually by a videoclip, to provide a fully rounded audiovisual approach. Immediately after, in the summer of 2019, TAF LATHOS shared the stage with two legends of global music, Damian Marley and Cypress Hill, as part of the Release Festival lineup. In early 2020, TAF LATHOS arranged his tracks afresh, for a new venture he has launched with a 7-member band, with alternative instrumental versions giving his creations a new lease of life.

This event comes under a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). Alongside the majority of its events, which are free thanks to a series of SNF grants, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center also organizes a number of events with affordable tickets, thus enriching its income sources and securing its long-term financial integrity.
