Two legends of the local hip hop scene, Taki Tsan & Phyrosun, are coming to the Panoramic Steps of the SNFCC for a live show featuring new, unreleased tracks, as well as older material including some of the classic anthems of Greek rap music. Behind the decks on stage will be the tireless beatmaker Rsn.
A founding member of Zontanoi Nekroi [Living Dead] and of Tigre Sporakia, a solo rapper as Waze, Timvorihos [Tomb Raider] and, of course, Pedi Thavma [Child Prodigy], Taki Tsan has been one of the most prominent figures of Greek hip hop since the second half of the 1990s, when he took his first steps. Apart from rapping himself, he has been involved in the hip hop scene also as a producer; he is one of the best tattoo artists in Athens; and, in recent years, he has reinvented himself as a “modern-day rebetis,” learning to play the baglama and embracing the culture of the rebetiko. Always inventive and an consummate user of social media, he combines all of his attributes on his YouTube channel, TSANEL.
Joining him on stage, on this Music Escapades night dedicated to rhyme, is Phyrosun. Also a member of the Greek rap scene since the late 1990s, he is just as multi-talented and multifaceted. He has participated in hip hop crews, teamed up with all the biggest names of the Greek rap scene, while he has released five signature albums since 2008. He has also been involved in theater. His great love has been, and still is, basketball, a sport he has been playing for several teams of the Athenian suburbs.
