Vision & Touch| Exclusive SNFCC Members' Events in January

We welcome 2022 with activities exclusively for Members, dedicated to the senses! On the occasion of World Braille Day (4/1) and in the context of SNFCC's Accessibility initiative, in January we focus on the senses of Vision and Touch. We visit the only Tactual Museum in Greece and get to know the Lighthouse for the Blind through two unique educational programs. In this month's Members' Meetup, we discuss the way in which the senses contribute to our daily "well-being", while in the series of Theatrical game workshops our young Members are inspired by them, paint them and bring them to life. The series of thematic art visits in the framework of the Membership Program's collaboration with Delta Restaurant and Artworks continues in January, while the SNFCC Family's newest Members discover its facilities in a unique walking tour. At the same time, we learn step by step how to provide immediate assistance to those at risk through a First Aid Course.

Members' Event: January Artistic visit at Delta Restaurant

A thematic initiative of artistic visits in two parts, exclusively for SNFCC Members

Within the context of this thematic initiative, the Membership Program in collaboration with ARTWORKS and Delta Restaurant, have scheduled visits, exclusively for the Members of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), which will take place from November 2021 to March 2022. Our third visit is happening on Monday 10/01, 18.00 at Delta Restaurant.

SNFCC Members Off the Premises: Studio Visit and Meet the artist – Katerina Komianou

In January, we have the greatest pleasure of meeting in person the artist Katerina Komianou, who is opening the doors of her studio and welcomes us at her personal space, where she creates her artworks. We will also have the opportunity to discuss about her own work and techniques, as well as the way she perceives them.

The five Senses that activate the body, the emotion, the effusion. They vivify our connection to nature and enhance our creativity and the art of "Live well".

Members' Event Kids: When creative writing met the Theatrical Game

Theatrical game workshop based on the senses for children 6-8 & 9-11 years old.

What color is an A, how much does a B weigh, what does an X taste like, how does an O sound, how does a P smell, how soft can an S be? How is a letter made into a word? Which word is lighter, the feather or the cloud? Which smells better, the shoe or the egg? How is a word made into a sentence? How is this sentence written on a piece of paper, and what does one do with this paper?

Prompted by the World Braille Day on January 4th, the development of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center tactile map, and as part of the SNFCC Accessibility initiative, we invite our young Memebrs to a unique visit and a private tour, exclusively for our Members, at the only Tactual Museum in Greece – and among the sole 5 ones in the world.

Members' Event: First-Aid Course

In this meeting, we have the opportunity to be informed on a theoretical and practical level in the treatment of resistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the recognition and use of an Automatic External Defibrillator, as well as the treatment of cases of drowning and choking.
