During this Carnival Season, the Stavros Niarchos Park travels around the world, creating a colorful corridor of knowledge, fun and meeting with joy. We travel to different countries of the world searching for the Carnival king of each place, reviving its customs, traditions and folklore carnival dances. On Clean Monday at the SNFCC we celebrate the beginning of Lent with a unique ceramics workshop inspired by the work of Spyros Vassilios "The table of Clean Monday". Participants will discover pottery and clay decoration techniques and will be inspired by newer ceramic molds. Then they will create their own useful ceramics to decorate the Lent table.

January 2022 witnesses the comeback of the highly successful printmaking workshop “Poetics” led by Maro Michalakakou. The workshop looks back on events of the Culture Center that focus on iconic authors of Modern Greek poetry (“Reflections on an ancient line of verse” on Nikos Gatsos; “Poetical Works” by J. Psychopedis inspired by Odysseus Elytis). We learn about their life and work and draw inspiration to create our own artwork. In this workshop we investigate the way in which poetry and poets can be transubstantiated into visual image.
The Mistake Workshop series, one of the most popular visual arts workshops at the Culture Center, return to the SNFCC for three meetings only, during which all mistakes are allowed, imagination takes the lead and personal expression blossoms. We draw inspiration from the most influential photographs taken by visitors of the Culture Center, in three unique workshop sessions. Rare moments, captured in photography, are being transcribed in continuous-line drawings, portraits, and sculptures made of clay. Design-Implementation: Christina Tsinisizeli, Visual Artist
Drawing on the numerous posters of the Culture Center, this collage workshop allows participants to process printed photographs and text (words, fonts, symbols) in order to compose their own poster for the most enigmatic event that is going to take place at the SNFCC. In this way they become acquainted with the main steps of designing an artistic poster, i.e. of the way in which an idea takes on a distinct visual form in order to convey a message or piece of information.
