Opening Ceremony for the 12th LEA Festival (Literatura en Atenas)
For the fourth year running, the opening ceremony for the 12th LEA Festival (Literatura en Atenas) will be held at the SNFCC.
Αddresses will be made by the Ambassador of Mexico, the Ambassador of Spain and the Ambassador of Brazil, who will also represent Portugal.
The ceremony will be held in Spanish, Portuguese and Greek.
Event: The contemporary reception of the poetry of George SeferisA tribute to the poet
A discussion on the poetic features and the reception of the work of George Seferis in Spanish-speaking countries.
The discussion will be led by some of the most important Greek researchers, as well as Spanish translators of the Nobel laureate’s work, and topics will include: the challenges of translating the poetry of George Seferis in terms of its formal elements, potential parallels with poets from Latin American countries and Spain, and traces of Seferis in the new generations of poets.
Using certain questions posed in Greek critical discourse as their starting point, the speakers will also attempt an approach to the contemporary interpretations of Seferis’ poetry and essays in Greece and the rest of the world, with their focus on Latin America and Spain.
Under the auspices of the Embassies of Spain, Mexico and Chile, and with the support of the Instituto Cervantes in Athens, and the Abanico Language School.
