Carnival at the SNFCC gives us an opportunity to escape from the humdrum day-to-day and revamp ourselves through dress-up and loads of fun. In this year’s special, beloved music bands fuse traditional carnival partying with street culture! Dance beats, interactivity and unique happenings “dress up” the Stavros Niarchos Park and set the tone for a very different Sunday.

Once again, the multicultural Bloco Swingueira band conveys its electrifying energy with rhythmic appearances at various parts of the Park. At the Great Lawn, the brass band Hasta Brassta sends out its positive vibes performing covers of popular tracks, while the band Hermaphrodite’s Child brings the rock ’n’ roll of the ’50s and ’60s to the present day, with costumes and spirit to match!

Fans of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry and Kinks, among others, Hermaphrodite’s Child are a rock’n’roll band that transfer the audience to other decades, through their original sound and performance. In their concerts, they perform hits from artists that marked that era and today, as well as surf rock instrumentals.

Hasta Brassta is a brass band that focuses on covers of popular disco/pop/funk songs. Officially launching their band during the pandemic restrictions, they have been captivating their audiences with their unique sound and vibrant interaction with the public.

The extrovert and multifaceted Bloco Swingueira is a drums band created in 2014. All their performances summon up the Carnival of Brazil, featuring samba afro and samba reggae beats that excite their audiences. In addition to their dozens of live performances, they organize percussion classes and seminars featuring acclaimed instructors from Brazil.
