Creative Wardrobe Renewal: Threads and Colors on our Fabrics! - Εικόνα

Tapping into the concept of reuse, and inspired by the new outdoor installation Return to Sender that is hosted at the SNFCC from April 26 to September 30, 2023, we get to see how, instead of throwing out our old clothes and fabrics, we can easily and quickly renew them.  In two workshops — one in May and one in June — we find out how we can decorate textiles we already own, learning basic embroidery stitches and their subtle variations, which we can also employ later in other handicrafts.

June Workshop

Did you know that, on average, we only wear about 20% of the clothes we have in our wardrobe? One way to change this, and reclaim clothes that we wore once and then hid away in the back of our closet, is to decorate them and look at them from a fresh perspective. During the June workshop, we will learn new stitches and embroider botanical elements on our clothes, thus breathing new life into them.

For the June workshop, participants need to bring with them a monochrome, non-elastic piece of garment, or a canvas tote bag that they wish to revamp with some embroidery.
