Watch the event:
On Friday, February 19, at 18:30, “Sports Excellence”, which operates under the scientific supervision of the 1st Orthopedic Clinic of the Medical School of Athens, in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, presents a discussion on the topic of “Εxercise as a means of prevention and treatment” at the SNFCC Book Castle.
Medical studies have proven that contemporary diseases are connected to reduced physical activity, elevating scheduled daily exercise to an absolute must for the prevention of serious chronic conditions, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, malignancies and painful arthritic conditions.
During the discussion, we will delve into issues such as why we need to invest in exercise and the ways we can integrate it into our everyday lives in order to achieve the desired results. Finally, we will look into how the competent organizations can support therapeutic exercise programs for the benefit of society as a whole.
The event is coordinated by the “Regeneration & Progress” NGO, and realized thanks to a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
Friday 19/02, 18.30 – 20.00Book Castle
The lecture will be available to watch live on this page , as well as on the SNFCC’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
