Εικαστικό για την Ευρωπαϊκή Εβδομάδα Κινητικότητας

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center participates for the 3rd consecutive year in the European Mobility Week taking place from 16th to 22nd of September, and aiming to develop a more active and sustainable way of living.

In 2018, within the framework of rewarding initiatives of sustainable mobility, the SNFCC was awarded the first prize by the Ministry of Environment & Energy in the category “Mobility Actions”. The SNFCC, from the first year of its operation, promotes sustainable mobility, by encouraging the cycling culture and the use of bike as a mean of transport, exercise and recreation.

European Mobility Week is an institution established in 2002 by the European Commission, aiming at promoting sustainable urban transport. It is realized every year from 16th to 22nd of September, intending to encourage city residents to choose sustainable modes of transport, such as walking or cycling.

As part of the European Mobility Week, the event “Check your Bike” takes place at the SNFCC’s Visitors Center:

The SNFCC invites all cyclists to bring their bikes and learn everything regarding their vehicle by experienced technicians; Get to know how to unload and tie your vehicle, how to change tires and adjust the speeds depending on the road, as well as how to adjust the brakes and driving position.

Discover also details and tips related to bike safety, and listen to useful advice on how to purchase equipment or bike accessories.
