Εικαστικό για την Ευρωπαϊκή Εβδομάδα Κινητικότητας

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center participates for the 3rd consecutive year in the European Mobility Week taking place from 16th to 22nd of September, and aiming to develop a more active and sustainable way of living.

In 2018, within the framework of rewarding initiatives of sustainable mobility, the SNFCC was awarded the first prize by the Ministry of Environment & Energy in the category “Mobility Actions”. The SNFCC, from the first year of its operation, promotes sustainable mobility, by encouraging the cycling culture and the use of bike as a mean of transport, exercise and recreation.

European Mobility Week is an institution established in 2002 by the European Commission, aiming at promoting sustainable urban transport. It is realized every year from 16th to 22nd of September, intending to encourage city residents to choose sustainable modes of transport, such as walking or cycling.

As part of the European Mobility Week, the “Social Biking project” takes place at the SNFCC’s Visitors Center:

“Social Biking challenge”, a project by European Commission, will start on 16th of September, and it will last for 3 weeks, until October, 6.  It is a project that aims to promote cycling as a social habit across Europe.

At the official launch of the project in Athens, on September 16, you will have the chance to discover more about the project at the SNFCCs information booth.
