In August and September, the Forest Group welcomes families to the Stavros Niarchos Park for two gardening workshops.
The long journey of the potato
How much do we know about the favorite food of children and adults?
We discover the secrets of the potato, learn about its long journey from one continent to another, and the reasons why it became such an important dietary staple for people around the globe.
Finally, we work together as families to plant potatoes, thus starting our own home-grown crop!

Autumn Vitamins
How do green vegetables shield our health? Playing specially designed games, children and adults get to discover unknown facts about the origin, characteristics and nutritional value of green vegetables. We work together as families and transform plastic bottles and tin cans into seedbeds, planting seeds and autumn vegetable sprouts for our family vegetable garden!

The Forest Group’s educational workshops for families feature environmental, motor and sensory games and activities that help us sync with the stimuli provided by the natural environment and the seasons of the year. In this way, children and adult participants get to motivate their senses, play, explore, discover and immersively learn about nature and its wonders, developing their environmental awareness.
