Visual for the concert of Stefanos Andreadis & Flying Jazz Quartet at SNFCC

Listen to the recorded concert as part of the Jazz Chronicles series here.

The recording will remain available on the SNFCC website.

In April 2018, after the release of their second album, To Eternity, Flying Jazz Quartet, fronted by guitarist, composer and Ionian University professor Stefanos Andreadis, came to the SNFCC and filled the Lighthouse with jazz melodies.

Together with Andreadis’ longtime friend and collaborator, George Kontrafouris, on Hammond organ, fabulous trumpeter Andreas Polyzogopoulos and drummer extraordinaire Vassilis Podaras (Ionian University Jazz Department graduate and Andreadis’s former student), Andreadis led Flying Jazz Quartet to Mediterranean soundscapes.

Their music expressed the Hammond’s deliciously electric sound, with lyricism, intimacy, originality and finesse, paying homage to jazz tradition while infusing it with a distinct Greek flavor.

A warm thank you to the musicians of the concert:
