Nature Power

What does a “Green Building” possibly mean? Through research games, mathematical riddles, experiments and role playing activities, participants will have the chance to discover the innovations and the functions of the Energy Canopy, the Green Roofs and the watering tanks as well as their role to the SNFCC’s daily operating needs.

Audio Landscapes at SNFCC

Which sounds are circulating inside SNFCC? Which of them do we often hear and which do we miss? Through a journey to a place full of anthropogenic sounds (Greek National Opera) and to an environment of natural sounds (Stavros Niarchos Park), participants familiarize themselves with the notion of sound and are experimenting with its features and dynamics. Following their discovery, participants decode the architectural design of Renzo Piano as a graphic score, orchestrate it and inspire from it in order to create their own graphical scores and SNFCC’s sound maps.

12, 19/01 | 09.00-10.30

At the Threshold of Architecture

A real mock-up workshop aiming at introducing participants to the architecture and the architectural composition. Setting the SNFCC’s building facilities as a starting point, participants learn how to be able to materialize an idea on the paper or on a mock-up by experimenting with architect's tools and the use of modeling materials and drawing scales.

12, 19/01 | 11.00-12.30

Solar energy and a world in constant motion

Nature, natural environment, machines, motion, solar energy, transformation of forms of energy, ways of transforming mechanical energy, automation. Participants are invited to approach the fields above by creating their own mechanical constructions, which are real machine’s simulations.

To participate, please contact NLG’s (National Library of Greece) Public Computers Reception desk or call 216 8091000.
