Music is not meant to be sequestered in concert halls. For more than forty years, Live from Lincoln Center has helped beam marquis performances into living rooms around the United States, . Through a partnership with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the performances themselves have left the concert hall, venturing outside of the United States for the first time and traveling to Greece. Support for this international milestone for Live from Lincoln Center was provided through an exclusive grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

In Odyssey: The Chamber Music Society in Greece, which will air on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) on September 6, Live from Lincoln Center captures on-location performances in stunning venues around Greece, including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens. Concerts were also recorded at the Church of Taxiarchon in Milies, the Church of St. Constantine and Helen in Volos, the ancient amphitheater of Larissa, and Delphi.

Local music students in the areas visited by the Chamber Music Society had the opportunity to attend master classes given by the professional musicians.

Once the episode airs, it will be available to stream on the PBS website for 28 days. Live recordings of the performances are also available in an album available and streaming now.
