The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center would like to express its great sadness at the passing of our collaborator and prominent photojournalist Yannis Behrakis. His lens didn’t just capture events but revealed stories and evoked feelings that motivated viewers. The SNFCC recently hosted a series of Behrakis’ photographs capturing in a unique manner the refugees’ ordeal and the subsequent humanitarian crisis. “A photograph can change the world and make it more just” he used to say. His loss has left a great void that will be hard to fill.
