Mindfulness is a scientifically proven approach with multiple benefits into psychological, physical, and emotional levels. It has been applied worldwide as a tool, in hundreds of millions of educational institutions since late 90’s. A support to children and teens to stabilize and maintain focus, managing emotional reactions, the development of social and emotional intelligence, and for finding the best ways of handling stress that unfortunately emerges from early ages.
The lady in the balcony across from yours always sits by herself and you want to meet her. You sense the musician playing the piano next door has no idea how talented he is. You want to ask the kid you bump into practicing at the swimming pool to teach you some extra techniques. You just tasted the most delicious tomato you’ve ever eaten at the farmers’ market and asked for some seeds. Your neighbor is overwatering the bougainvillea and you want to save it. You want to put all your thoughts into a bottle and throw it in the sea. So, do it! Write it down! Write a letter!
«A poem in motion! »- Aeolians During this lab, children draw inspiration from the emblematic Aeolians of Takis. They select cutout words και phrases related to “Friendship”, which they try to paint or even fill up with colors. Our little poets, staying always true to the artistic movement of “aesthetic anarchy”, decorate windmills in the colors of Taki’s palette, and compose poems in motion. Thanks to the wind power, the words rotate, and the poems keep changing as well, offering so many different readings, same as “Friendship” per se!
Taking the Takis sculptures on display in the Stavros Niarchos Park as its starting point, this workshop draws inspiration from the work of the self-taught artist, and more specifically from the movement he gives his work through the use of magnetic fields, but also from the way he situates his work in public space and, in so doing, redefines the viewer’s relationship to that space. Centring on these elements, we will experiment, like Takis, with different ‘lowly’, everyday materials, materials destined for recycling or for the bin, and upcycle them into small art-works.

When distances become longer, slopes become steeper, or just when one wants to sweat less, choosing an electric bicycle is what is required. Especially since the Ministry of Environment proposes using e-bikes as a means of transportation, it is important to know about these bikes, their features, and their characteristics. September is the month of change and new beginnings. Everything we are experiencing now is different and we are constantly in a process of renewal and restart in the continuously changing situations.
