*Due to the weather conditiions, the 06/09 workshop is postponed to 13/09.

On the occasion of the SNFCC hosting the outdoor installation Return to Sender by the African art collective NEST, SOFFA - Social Fashion Factory organization, in collaboration with the SNFCC, are holding a series of meetings for teenagers and adults, aiming to raise awareness of the environmental footprint of the fashion industry and disseminate the stories of women who have come from the countries of production, having made a long journey, just as our clothes have.

At each meeting, participants will get to know a different woman from a production country. Seamstresses from distant cultures will talk about elements of their cultural heritage and clothing styles of their home country.

Participants will hear the story of these women’s journey, as well as the journey of our clothes, from their country of origin to Greece and from Greece back to the country of the sender. Then, participants will be asked to sew this route on a map of the world using textile waste, and calculate the carbon footprint of this journey.
