As part of Athens Pride Week, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), in partnership with Athens Pride and HER Project presents DJs Salin and Fo & VRGN, who will share the SNFCC stage, in a powerful line-up that you will have the opportunity to watch through live streaming.
Gender inequality is an international phenomenon that is taking on ever-growing political and social dimensions, creating a pressing need to take action to fight for equality. Institutions dealing with gender equality and aiming at the osmosis of ideas, views and actions, as things stand today, are being established globally. Athens Pride Week supports actions aimed at gender equality, promoting the rights and claims of all persons not confined within the dominant social paradigm and traditional social structures.

HER
With the female presence in line-ups barely amounting to 10-15%, women DJs and producers are a rare breed, and showcasing new talent becomes even harder. #HER is a music project that began in Athens in 2018, with the aim of supporting and promoting female DJs and producers who are involved (or want to be involved) with the electronic music scene. Quality transcends gender, age and nationality; it is centred on the talent and inspiration that characterizes each and every one of these women.
HER is the brainchild of Fofi Tsesmeli (aka Fo), one of the most popular and well-known DJs on the scene, with a broad and strong presence in media and electronic music. Virginia, aka VRGN, project manager for a cultural management organization and one of the up-and-coming names on the scene, recently partnered with Fofi in HER. They share the passion and determination to evolve HER, to raise issues regarding gender equality and the presence of women in music, and to create a sustainable, safe and creative hub, where women will be free to express themselves and create, to learn, to connect with professionals in the field, and to evolve.
