What might happen when an inventive musician and a drag persona meet on stage? Lou is (aka Louisa Sofianopoulou) and Mary Sunshine are coming to the SNFCC Agora on Saturday, April 7, for a guilty pleasure party featuring domestic and international disco and pop hits from the ’80s to the present day.
From Whitney Houston and ABBA to Mando, from Kylie Minogue and Madonna to Alexia, and from Kate Bush to Lady Gaga, our date for dance, nostalgia and lots of humor is set in the context of WOW Athens 2024.
Joining them on stage is the grooviest band in town: Stelios Paschalis – drums Christos Kechris – bass Michalis Sofianos – keyboards Sam Marlieri – saxophone
Lou is experiments in music and moves across a wide range of musical influences, ranging from alternative pop and rock to jazz, blues and ethnic music. She has collaborated with numerous Greek artists, including Foivos Delivorias, Manolis Famellos, Panos Mouzourakis, Dimitra Galani, Eleni Vitali, Yiannis Kotsiras, and Maria Farantouri. She is a member of the group "Heroes - A tribute to David Bowie". She is also one of the three singers of the highly successful tribute "A tribute to Leonard Cohen". She has released two English EPs, "Dragons" and "Fall in your sky".
Mary Sunshine started out from musical theater, boasting remarkable collaborations. A theatrical persona who promises nostalgia, joy, lots of energy and humor. She became known to the public with the musical monologue “The Tropical Bird,” written, directed and performed by herself.
