On Sunday, March 17, Stavros Niarchos Park becomes the venue of a grand party! We put on our masks and float into the world of our dreams and heroes. Live music, percussion parade, workshops, masqueraders, and loads of fun and imagination set the stage for an utterly unique Sunday! The well-known multicultural percussion band Bloco Swingueira takes its explosive energy and Brazilian rhythms to various parts of Stavros Niarchos Park, while the The Jaguar Bombs set up the wildest party featuring covers of timeless hits we have all loved.
Bloco Swingueira The extrovert and multifaceted Bloco Swingueira is a drums band created in 2014. All their performances evoke the Carnival of Brazil, featuring samba afro and samba reggae beats that stir up their audiences. In addition to their dozens of live performances, they organize percussion classes and seminars featuring acclaimed instructors from Brazil.
The Jaguar Bombs What do The Sonics have in common with 5ive, or The Offspring with Elvis? The Jaguar Bombs blend together dynamic rock ‘n’ roll tracks with pop tunes of previous decades and bring their energy to the Stavros Niarchos Park Great Lawn! Presenting a program characterized by rockabilly, surf and garage rock aesthetics, with references to teenage pop hymns and other musical “guilty pleasures”, the Jaguar Bombs cover timeless hits that we have all sung and tunes that made up the soundtrack of our teenage years parties.
