Prompted by the outdoor exhibition that is dedicated to the work of artist Alex Mylona and presented at the Esplanade of the Cultural Centre, a workshop will be held for children and young teens, in which they are invited to create three-dimensional compositions inspired by two elements of the artist’s work: constructing a piece that acts as an extension of their body, and simultaneously a model of a sculpture that could work on an oversized scale.
“An artist is expressing herself, and this is visible in her work” — Alex Mylona
Participants will work in pairs, helping each other so that each one creates his or her own work. This project will have two uses/implications at the same time: It will be a composition that will cover part of their body, such as a mask or part of a costume. At the same time, by placing the composition in space with possible minor adjustments, we will discuss how it may function as a large-scale 3D sculpture for the public space.
