An 80-year-old Little Prince

On the occasion of the 80-year anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince's first edition, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center is inviting young and old to celebrate World Book Day reading one of the most celebrated books of the 20th century.

Actor Nikolas Hanakoulas will be reading from the book, taking us on a journey through its pages, while writer Eleni Katsama will guide us through the universe of Saint-Exupéry, talking about the biographical and historical elements behind the symbolisms in the work, and the French author’s masterful ability to transform personal experience into a timeless monument of contemporary literature.

During the event, we will read excerpts from the book Little Prince, translated in Greek by Alki Zei, published by Metaichmio Publications.
